People here held their first ever street party on Aug. 20.
The event was hosted by Eden Mills Canada Summer Jobs Youth, Eden Mills Community Club, and Village Enhancement and Livable Streets (VELS).
The focus of the event was to unveil a new street front mural and to encourage people to drive slowly through the village.
The evening began with activities for children, including face painting, sidewalk chalk drawing, traffic calming, and a scavenger hunt. At 6pm, with Guelph-Eramosa Mayor Chris White present, the Eden Mills Canada Summer Jobs Youth unveiled a new mural, located in the heart of Eden Mills, with over 100 villagers filling the streets.
The mural features images of the past, present, and future. A barbecue and potluck dinner, held in the parking lot of the community hall, was followed with live music and lots of socializing.
The night ended with a bonfire in the meadow.
