Local officials are continuing their search for a possible location for an Erin Habitat for Humanity project.
Town planner Sally Stull recently told council she is working with the organization to investigate six possible properties – three in Hillsburgh and three in Erin. Four of the lots, which she described as undersized or oddly-shaped, are owned by the town.
Stull said officials thought they had found the perfect lot on the 9th Line in Erin, which is valued at about $120,000.
“It’s a delightful lot,” Stull said, but it’s likely not big enough to accommodate a 2,000 square foot semi-detached home (1,000 feet per side), plus septic requirements.
Councillors seemed in favour of directing town staff to continue with an investigation to find a lot.
