The Guelph Youth Singers (GYS) winter concert, A Starry Blue Night, is on Dec. 6 at 7pm at Harcourt Memorial United Church.
Come and hear the four award-winning choirs and the newest addition to the GYS family, the SATB (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) Choir.
As the autumn nights become longer and darker, join the choristers of GYS as they warm up the royal blue sky with songs of the season.
Traditional holiday music will be celebrated, along with new songs that will leave audiences humming along.
Founded in 1991, GYS has reached national prominence through provincial and national awards at the Canadian Federation of Music Festivals. Its three solo CDs, including its latest, an anniversary release titled, Into the Breeze, are sold throughout North America.
GYS is always looking for new members who love to sing. Choristers learn to sing, read music, participate in drama workshops and perform. Auditions for the choir will be held in January.
Audition appointments are designed to give the child a “mini-lesson”. Singers are invited to enter the choir in September and January. Prospective choristers and their parents should contact the GYS office at 519-821-8574 for more information or to register for an audition.
More information is also available on the GYS website: www.guelphyouthsingers.com, or visit them on Twitter or Facebook.
