Guelph residents win Canadian championships

Nathan Skoufis, 22, owner and head instructor of Guelph Family Martial Arts and his mother Sophie Skoufis, lifetime Guelph residents, are Canadian champions.

They both captured first place wins at the Canadian National Championships the weekend of May 6 and 7 adding another Canadian title to their collection.

The tournament is one of the largest and most competitive in the country.

It is an open tournament that draws martial arts practitioners from all styles including kickboxing, karate, boxing and taekwondo.
