Guelph man arrested for attempted murder

GUELPH – A Guelph man faces attempted murder and other charges following a disturbance last Thursday morning at a Guelph home.

Just before 7am on Dec. 12, a passerby reported an injured male walking along Arthur Street South. Guelph Police say an officer located the injured male at Wellington Street East and Neeve Street.

“Further investigation led officers to a nearby home, where they observed signs of a struggle and found a second male suffering from injuries to his head and face,” police stated in a press release.

“He was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.”

A 27-year-old Guelph man was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, robbery and breaking into a residence to commit an indictable offence. He was held for a bail hearing on Dec. 17.

Police say the men involved know each other and “this was a targeted incident.”
