GUELPH – On June 6, the Guelph Humane Society (GHS) announced the success of its June 4 Happy Trails Walk-a-Thon.

Over $31,000 was raised by community members and  more than $36,000 was donated by local businesses.

The money will go toward providing essential programs and initiatives, including animal sheltering, veterinary care, adoption services and community outreach within Guelph and Wellington County.

GHS hosted 217 walkers, including 21 teams and more than 80 canine companions.

“We are absolutely thrilled with the tremendous response to the Happy Trails Walk-a-thon. The funds raised will enable us to provide vital care and support to vulnerable animals in our community,” said GHS executive director Lisa Veit.
