GUELPH – The Guelph Humane Society (GHS) launched its newly rebranded Lucky Paws 50/50 Lottery (RAF1375301) on April 1st.
This year GHS guarantees a minimum grand prize of $5,000 (and growing) to the lucky winner. It is also offering five $500 early bird draws, with a special bonus $200 prize pack from Dogtopia in week five.
Proceeds from the lottery will go towards helping abandoned animals in Guelph and Wellington County
“The GHS Lucky Paws Lottery is a fun way to get the community involved in helping animals that have nowhere else to turn,” says Jane Dawkins, GHS director of communications and community engagement.
“Everything we raise from the lottery goes back to help the animals and allows us to give them the hope, care and compassion they desperately need when they arrive at our door.”
Proceeds will help to provide food, primary and complex veterinary care, medications and, of course, lots of love and attention to the approximately 100 animals currently waiting at GHS for their new families.
Funds will also support GHS Cares programs such as emergency boarding, Pets in Transition (a program for those fleeing domestic violence or in need of mental health and addiction support), and free short-term boarding for pets of senior citizens in need of hospitalization.
Tickets are now on sale and start as low as $10, with the best value being 750 tickets for $75. Early bird draws occur each Friday, starting on April 12 through to May 10.
Early bird winners will have a continued chance to win the grand prize which will be drawn on May 17, and the winning ticket will take home 50 percent of the total jackpot.
“We are so excited to bring the GHS lottery back to our supporters with this brand refresh,” says Dawkins.
“For those that have a love for animals, this is a jack-pawt you won’t want to miss.”
