Guelph/Eramosa man, 95, charged in pedestrian’s death

GUELPH – A 95-year-old man has been charged with careless driving in connection with a collision last month that resulted in the death of a Guelph woman.

At about 3:30pm on Sept. 26, a Chevrolet sedan leaving the parking lot of a retail store on Eramosa Road struck two pedestrians.

As a result of the collision, a 72-year-old Guelph woman sustained severe injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A 74-year-old Guelph man sustained minor injuries and was transported to Guelph General Hospital.

The driver of the sedan remained at the scene and was cooperative.

On Oct. 6 a 95-year-old man from Guelph/Eramosa was charged with careless driving causing death. He is to appear in Guelph court in December.
