ROCKWOOD – Guelph/Eramosa Township is hosting a public Remembrance service and reception on Nov. 5 at 10:55 am.
Participants will assemble at 10:30am on Guelph Street, near the post office. The parade will proceed to the cenotaph, located at the corner of Main Street South (Highway 7) and Guelph Street in Rockwood.
Following the service, the parade will march north on Main Street to the saluting base in front of St. John’s Anglican Church Hall. The Rockwood Fire Department invites all participants for refreshments at the hall following the service.
The province and county of have authorized the township to temporarily close a portion of Highway 7 during the service. There will also be temporary road closures on local streets surrounding the cenotaph.
Grade 7 and 8 classes of Rockwood Centennial Public School will hold a separate service on Nov. 11, at which the public is welcome to attend.
