The Guelph-Eramosa Fire Department is selling its snow removal equipment.
In 2015, the fire department purchased a pick-up truck that was mounted with a snow plow and salter unit.
“This equipment has seen minimal use as the township provides snow removal services for the first hall,” wrote deputy fire chief Jim Petrik in a report to council on Nov. 20. “This equipment takes up considerable space in the fire hall.”
Councillor David Wolk asked if another department could use the truck.
“The truck is fine, it’s being used regularly,” CAO Ian Roger clarified. “It’s just the plow and the salter that were purchased together.”
Petrik also wrote in his report that no other department within Guelph-Eramosa had a use for the snow removal equipment.
“Good, I’m glad to see that it’s being converted back into cash,” Mayor Chris White said.
