Guelph-Eramosa council paid over $89,000

Guelph-Eramosa council was paid a tot­al of $89,693 in remuneration and expenses for 2009, up almost 13% over the 2008 figure of $79,566.
Mayor Chris White was paid a total of $39,832 – up 31% – including $14,913 in sal­ary, $17,645 in additional meetings (not council) and $7,274 in expenses.
Councillor John Scott’s total was $14,681 – down 2% – including $9,942 in salary, $3,375 for meet­ings and $1,364 in ex­penses.
Councillor Doug Breen was paid $13,501 – up 4% – with $9,942 in regular pay, $3,225 for meetings and $334 in expenses.
Councillor Reta Moyer was paid $12,735 – down 2% – in­cluding $9,942 in salary, nothing for extra meetings and $1,818 in expenses.
Councillor Roger Knapp received $8,942 – down 10% – in remuneration only, with no extra meetings or expenses.
Knapp’s 2009 pay was $1,000 less than the other three councillors because five of his 10 absences from regular council meetings were subject to $200 deductions, in accordance with the remuner­ation by­law.
