Guelph-Eramosa council was paid a total of $87,462 in salary and expenses for 2010.
That figure is down 2.5% over the 2009 figure of $89,693, but is still almost 10% higher than the 2008 total ($79,566).
Mayor Chris White was paid a total of $39,173 – a slight decrease from last year, but still over 29% higher than his 2008 total of $30,265. The mayor’s 2010 total includes $14,361 in salary, $17,325 in additional meetings (not council) and $7,487 in expenses.
Councillor John Scott’s total was $13,758 – down 6% – including $9,574 in salary, $3,150 for meetings and $1,034 in expenses.
Councillor Doug Breen was paid $11,780 – down 12% – with $9,574 in regular pay, $1,725 for meetings and $481 in expenses.
Former councillor Reta Moyer was paid $12,448 – down 2%, although she served just 11 months in 2010, as she did not run for re-election – including $8,911 in salary, $1,275 for extra meetings and $2,262 in expenses.
Former councillor Roger Knapp received $7,711 – down almost 14% – in remuneration only, with no extra meetings or expenses. Knapp also served just 11 months, choosing not to seek re-election last year. However, much of his decrease in 2010 was due to a large number of meeting absences.
Last year Knapp missed nine of 22 regular council meetings (resulting in six $200 deductions for each meeting missed after three – or $1,200 total). Knapp also missed four out of five special council meetings, for an overall absentee rate of 48%.
The most combined absences in 2010 by any other councillor was three (Scott). Moyer missed two total meetings and White and Breen had perfect attendance for the year.
New councillors David Wolk and Corey Woods received $1,331 and $1,261 respectively in total pay for the one month they served in 2010. Both received $662 in remuneration, while Wolk collected an additional $225 for meetings and $443 in expenses, and Woods collected $246 in expenses.
Woods and Wolk both attended the two December council meetings.
