BRUCEDALE – Guelph/Eramosa council meets every Monday afternoon in a hybrid format.
Items discussed at the March 6 meeting included recent snow removal and the Ussher’s Creek Subdivision project.
Snow removal
Mayor Chris White and councillor Mark Bouwmeester both praised the township’s public works department for its work cleaning up after the significant snowfall on March 3 and 4.
“It was a bit stressful, just the rate of snowfall in such a short period of time,” Bouwmeester said, but “the phone calls that came in were addressed really promptly.”
White said it’s the most snow he’s seen since 1968, “so it was pretty phenomenal.
“And it was heavy.”
White said GET public works “got everything up and running” very quickly, noting that some areas outside of the township were still working to finish clearing the snow on March 6.
Ariss subdivision
For the Ussher’s Creek subdivision in Ariss, council approved the final assumption request and release of remaining securities to 2081862 Ontario Ltd. (operating as GWD Developments Ltd).
Township engineering consultant R.J. Burnside completed the final inspection and confirmed the subdivision meets the requirements of the agreement.
The township is holding $110,412 in a letter of credit. This will be released after the payment of outstanding invoices.
