Guelph Dance Festival runs this weekend

GUELPH – The Guelph Dance Festival, now in its 26th year, runs from May 31 to June 2. The schedule is as follows:

May 31

– 7pm – IN THE PARK featuring Jera Wolfe and Natasha Kanapé Fontaine, Tanveer Alam, FakeKnot and Fujiwara Dance Inventions with Guelph Chamber Choir at Guelph’s Exhibition Park, 81 London Rd. W. This programming will also run at noon both June 1 and 2.

June 1

– 10am – Workshop with FakeKnot at Exhibition Park;

– 12pm – IN THE PARK;

– 4pm – IN THE LAB featuring Jillian Peever, MacKinnon Building, 87 Trent Ln;

– 8pm – ON THE STAGE featuring Tentacle Tribe at River Run Centre, 35 Woolwich St.; and

– 9:30pm – Festival Party at artBar, 37 Quebec St., with DJs Gury Gury and Tarek spinning salsa on vinyl.

June 2

– 10:30am – Workshop with Tentacle Tribe at Exhibition Park;

– 12pm – IN THE PARK; and

– 3:30pm – IN THE STUDIO featuring Dust and Soul Dance at Guelph Youth Dance Studios, 42 Quebec St.

Festival passes and single event tickets are available on a sliding scale, and can be purchased through the River Run Centre’s box office up to two hours before the performance, or at the door of the event starting one hour before the performance. Festival workshops and IN THE PARK are pay-what-you-can donation-based.
