GUELPH — On May 22, the Guelph Community Foundation announced its 16 scholarship and bursary recipients for Guelph and Wellington County.
The recipients were awarded funding to help achieve their academic goals.
A majority of these funds support students pursuing business, STEM-related subjects, trades, athletics, or to help support those pursuing post-secondary education and facing financial barriers.
Officials say the recipients for this year demonstrated determination, perseverance, compassion, respect for others and their community, and have shown tremendous potential.
With inflation increasing the price of living, financial barriers for students are high.
The foundation says the 16 scholarships are helpful, but often only scratch the surface of students’ upcoming financial needs.
