The Guelph Chamber Choir is ringing in the Christmas season with the bell choir Bells Ablaze at an afternoon concert of Carols for Christmas at St. George’s Anglican Church on Dec. 3 at 2:30pm.
Audience members are invited to sing along to familiar carols, enjoy the bell ringers creating precise and wondrous sounds, hear the choir raise their voices in melodious power, listen to poetry and tales of Christmases past and present, and feel the essential renewal of the season.
Bells Ablaze is an invitational hand-bell choir, drawing bell-ringers from communities throughout southwestern Ontario. The group of ringers plays challenging repertoire without a conductor, requiring not only a high degree of musicianship from each ringer, but a level of synergy and collaboration beyond that found in most ensembles.
Single tickets are $25 each or four for $80. Tickets for those 30 and under and for students are $10. Tickets for youth and eyeGO are $5.
Tickets are available from choir or board members, through the River Run Centre by calling 519-763-3000 or online at riverrun.ca.
Tickets will also be available at the door.
