The Arboretum, University of Guelph, is offering an invasive species plants workshop on May 31 from 9am to 4pm. It will be led by guest instructor Dirk Steinke.
Workshop participants will learn about biology, identification, and control of invasive plant species. What makes them more successful than native species? Best practices for preventing the spread and introduction of invasive species will also be taught. Parts of the workshop will be outside exploring the woods and gardens of the Arboretum in search of invasive species.
Registration deadline is May 23 and the cost is $75 plus HST. Registration is online at: www.uoguelph.ca/arboretum.
