Grove Rockwood Sub-Hub opens at Rockmosa Community Centre

ROCKWOOD – Youth in Rockwood now have easier access to programs and services offered through the Grove Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario.

The organization, which provides youth with a variety of health, wellness and social supports, opened the doors of its Rockwood Sub-Hub on Sept. 20.

Located at the Rockmosa Community Centre, 110 Rockmosa Dr., the sub-hub will be open every second Friday from 3 to 6pm, and will offer a range of programming for youth aged 12 to 26 in a safe, supportive space.

The location was opened through a partnership with East Wellington Community Services and Guelph/Eramosa Township.

“We are thrilled to bring our services closer to youth in Rockwood,” site lead Fran MacDonald stated in a news release.

“This partnership with East Wellington Community Services and Guelph/Eramosa Township will provide much-needed opportunities for young people in the area to engage in activities that nourish their creativity and well-being.”

Youth can drop in, grab a snack and take part in a variety of creative activities, such as colouring, crafts, video game tournaments and more. At the same time they have access to wellness services provided by the Grove’s staff.

Upcoming opening dates are Oct. 4 and 18, Nov. 1, 15 and 29, and Dec. 13.

For youth who need transportation to attend, the Grove is available to help.

The Grove has sites in Palmerston, Erin and Fergus, as well as four Guelph locations.

The Rockwood location is the latest sub-hub to open in an attempt to expand access to services. Others are located in Drayton, Harriston and Mount Forest.
