On March 1, Greenlands Centre Wellington presents Designing our future community, the third in a series of annual workshops at the Sportsplex in Fergus from 8:30am to 3pm. Previous workshops have dealt with Visioning and Mapping a Greenlands Future.
On March 1, map work created at last year’s workshop will be featured together with a new biophysical study of Centre Wellington, funded by the township. Sean Kelly, from the School of Environmental Design and Rural Development at the Ontario College of Agriculture will lead workshop participants through a series of exercises specific to Centre Wellington.
By looking at opportunities and constraints, the workshop participants will begin to create guidelines for future development.
The workshop will be interactive, involving all aspects of our community in the process. This is a local opportunity to shape our community.
Kelly, a resident of Centre Wellington, is an internationally recognized leader in the planning of environmentally sensitive recreational areas. His project designs allow a balance between development with an acknowledgement of preserving environmental richness.
Admission of $20 includes coffee and lunch. All are welcome.
