Grazing plan workshops in March and April

ONTARIO –  Ontario Forage Council has announced upcoming Grazing Plan Workshops.

“It doesn’t matter why you need a grazing plan, whether it’s to apply for funding or to help you plan your operation, this is the workshop for you,” organizers state.

“Our mentors will help guide you through the process of creating your grazing plan, from your herd plan to building in contingency, paddock design, and howto map your farm with Google Earth.”

Workshops are set to take place:

  • March 24 and 26, from 7 to 9pm, online;
  • April 5, from 10am to 3pm, in Codrington (lunch provided); and
  • April 12, 10am to 3pm, in Markdale (lunch provided).

Spots are limited and the cost is $25 per person.

These workshops are OSCIA-recognized Knowledge Sharing Events (KSE) for farmers with On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF) applications in the Rotational Grazing category.

The Ontario Forage Council is partnering with Farmers for Climate Solutions and the Canadian Forage and Grassland Association (CFGA) to offer these workshops as part of the Advanced Grazing Mentorship Program.
