The 2014-15 season of the Grand Philharmonic Choir will feaaing the internationally hailed dramatic tenor Rufus Müller, and the wildly popular TORQ Percussion Quartet.
The season includes:
– Oct. 24 and 25: Carmina Burana, by Carl Orff. Performed by the TORQ Percussion Quartet and the adult, children’s and youth choirs, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Kitchener.
– Dec. 6: Handel’s Messiah, performed by the choir, the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, at Centre in the Square;
– Feb. 21: Grant Us Peace at Centre in the Square including Josef Haydn’s Nelsonmesse; and
– April 3: The St. Matthew Passion of J.S. Bach will be performed with Müller in the role of the Evangelist, whose commentary provides a link between the arias, chorales and choruses of this sublime work.
This annual Good Friday concert at Centre in the Square always features a Bach masterwork.
