GUELPH – National Giving Tuesday is making a return this year on Dec. 3 in support of the Hospice Wellington Kitchen.
“We find that a lot of people find comfort through food, so we make sure to put a lot of focus on our kitchen so that our kitchen can create special meals for people,” said Hospice Wellington events planner, Phil Gourlay.
This year, to honour 14 years since donating the kitchen to Hospice Wellington, Barzotti Woodworking will be matching the first $14,000 raised by the community.
“We have two goals this year,” said Gourlay. “One is to match our Barzotti Woodworking $14,000 matching gift, and for our second goal we would like to see about $50,000 raised for the kitchen.”
Donations can be made online at hospicewellington.org/donate until Dec. 3 or in person on Dec. 3 at the Lower Level of the Hospice Wellington building in Guelph. Cash and gift cards are welcomed.
“We really want to thank the community for putting in the special effort and for helping us reach our goals for the kitchen, and seeing just how important the kitchen is for families struggling during the end of life transition,” said Gourlay.
