GUELPH – The Guelph Humane Society (GHS) is moving to its new facility at 190 Hanlon Creek Blvd. over the weekend of March 5 to 7.
Construction is not entirely completed on the new building, officials state in a press release.
There are interior projects that are still in progress, and landscaping that will have to wait until later in the spring.
However the building is safe and ready enough to move into, they say.
“The larger space will allow us to better physically distance and adhere to public health requirements, and give the animals more room to enjoy their time with us before finding their new families,” states executive director Adrienne McBride.
GHS will be closed March 5 to 7, but still able to respond to an animal emergency.
The emergency line is 1-855-333-3385.
The animals will move in on March 8, said Lisa Veit, associate director, “and they will be in for such a treat. They will have new and improved spaces to explore!”
GHS will return to normal operating hours on March 8 – but will have limited public access for the time being.
