The Wellington County Learning Centre here is offering a math program for students going into grade 7, 8 or 9.
The program is especially for students struggling with the basic math curriculum. The intent of this program is to provide an opportunity for extra learning on basic math skills such as multiplication, division, and fractions.
About eight students can be accommodated. The group will meet at the centre for a four week session. The session will run for two hours per week on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The proposed starting date is the week of July 6. There may be a second three week session added in August if demand is sufficient.
Placement in the program will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis. If anyone is interested in having their child participate, they should call the Wellington County Learning Centre by June 29 at the latest. The number is 519-848-3462. The program is offered free of charge; however registration is necessary.
