Three men and one teenager, all from Brampton, have been charged in connection with a break-in at a medical marijuana facility here.
On Feb. 18 at about 12:08pm Wellington County OPP received a call for a break-in in progress at a Health Canada-authorized medical marijuana producer on Sideroad 17 in Erin.
Police say after a brief foot pursuit, officers apprehended two male suspects.
The Wellington County OPP Canine Unit, with support from from OPP Aviation Services and the West and Central Region Emergency Response Teams, captured the other two suspects over 5km away.
Michael Medeiros, 23, Peter Rego, 19, Shayne Morasse, 26, and a 16-year-old male, all from Brampton, are charged with:
– break and enter a dwelling;
– conspiracy to commit an indictable offence;
– possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
– possession of a loaded restricted firearm;
– possession of a firearm obtained by crime; and
– disguise with intent.
Medeiros, Rego and the 16-year-old, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, are also charged with failing to comply with recognizance and Morasse is also charged with possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order.
They were all to appear in Guelph bail court on Feb. 19.
