Food bank benefit – Centre Wellington Fire Rescue members, in conjunction with the Fergus Lions Club and FreshCo, gathered in front of the FreshCo store in north Fergus on Oct. 10 to collect food for the Centre Wellington Food Bank. Customers could purchase and donate pre-packaged $5 bags containing the food bank’s most-needed items. The Lions Club offered a barbecue with all proceeds going to the food bank as well. Freshco raised over $4,100 for the food bank last week – and $2,700 on Saturday alone.
