Book an appointment for a free flu shot.
This year citizens in Wellington and Dufferin Counties and Guelph can call or book a flu shot appointment online with WDG Public Health. Public Health recommends booking an appointment, but walk-ins are also welcome.
“The most effective way to protect yourself from flu is to be vaccinated yearly. In previous years, our flu clinics were busy, with long waits at peak times. That was particularly frustrating for everyone,” said medical officer of health, Dr. Nicola Mercer.
“This year we will accept walk-ins but encourage you to save time and make an appointment at one of our many clinics.” The flu shot is also available at doctors’ offices, and select pharmacies and workplaces.
Clinics start Nov. 12 at the WDG Public Health office on County Road 18, the Wellington Terrace building.
The shots are available Nov. 12, 18, 20, and 24 from 9am to 4pm.
On Nov. 13 and 26 the shots are available from 1 to 7pm.
The office will close for lunch from noon to 1pm.
Beginning Nov. 10, on non-clinic days, a public nurse is available during regular office hours for walk-ins. Wait time will vary depending on demands. The office is closed Nov. 11 for Remembrance Day.
