President Barb Harris welcomed 11 members and one guest to the Merry Makers seniors meeting on April 5 at Jamesway Manor in Clifford.
Wylie and Marion Agla invited Jerrica Li of Northern Flora in Clifford to demonstrate flower arranging. Li chose a white ceramic container filled with green floral foam pre-soaked in water treated with flower food. She started to make a collar of fresh cut leather fern greenery to conceal the foam oasis.
Three yellow roses were added as her feature flower in this garden style arrangement. White carnations and springtime peach coloured tulips were added along with green kermit chrysanthemums. She finished by adding a dried lotus pod.
Li and fiancé Stephen Sergenese own Northern Flora located at 21 Elora Street South in Clifford. They also grow certified organic produce at Henceforth Farms.
Mary Mighton won the centrepiece.
The next meeting on May 3 will feature a presentation from Alpaca Time followed by dining at Gramma Jo’s.
