A local pilot received minor injuries after a float plane tipped over on Puslinch Lake last week.
On May 25 at about 7pm, emergency crews responded to the lake, where a Piper PA Super Cruiser float plane had flipped over during a landing.
The pilot, a 51-year-old man from Puslinch Township, was the lone occupant and operator of the privately owned float plane.
“He was brought safely to shore by a boater after freeing himself from the submerged plane, suffering only minor cuts and bruises,” stated a Wellington County OPP press release.
The plane remained submerged for some time, until arrangements were made to remove it. Firefighters from the Cambridge Fire Department, along with Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene.
The Transportation Safety Board and the Ministry of the Environment were notified of the incident.
