Councillors here have approved a façade improvements grant of $1,357 for a property at 6 Elora Street in Clifford. They approved the application through a recent Minto economic development committee report.
Business and Economic Manager Belinda Wick-Graham explained it was the first application since council initiated its façade and signage improvement program. She said the owner of Hearth and Leisure learned about the program and was waiting to make the application The work will include a new, bigger window for his property.
She added that the owner has done some landscaping to the vacant lot next to the business. He is doing his outdoor furniture. “It’s a nice little cottage industry,” she said.
