WELLINGTON COUNTY – During fire prevention week and month, Minto Fire and Wellington North Fire Service have daily contests happening such as Trivia Tuesday and a colouring contest through social media.
“The culminating event is our Virtual All Time Best Spaghetti Supper Cooking Class. We are encouraging residents to register for the event on Eventbrite,” says deputy fire chief Callise Loos.
“Basically, residents are invited to cook family dinner together, we will send out a grocery list the week prior and then the class will be live via zoom.
We will talk about cooking safety and have two red seal chefs take everyone through the steps on how to prepare the meal.
The class is open to anyone, not just residents of Minto and Wellington North.
The virtual cooking class will be held Oct. 19 from 5:30 to 6:30pm

The colouring contest is open during October and entries should be images sent through email or tagging your local fire service on social media.
The winning entry, which will be drawn at random, will be given a kids’ cooking set.
