A late night fire destroyed a motor home parked in the driveway of a home on Brady Street here on July 21.
At about 11pm Rockwood fire received the call.
“Someone walking by saw smoke and flames coming from the motor home,” said Guelph-Eramosa Fire Chief John Osborne. “Our crews arrived, the motor home was fully engulfed.”
He said the fire was also beginning to melt the siding on the home but the fire department quickly knocked the fire down.
Two residents of the home were packing up the motor home to go on vacation and had safely exited the house before the fire department arrived.
The fire destroyed the motor home and caused exterior damage to the deck, siding and some lawn furniture of the house.
Osborne predicted the damage cost would be around $100,000.
There were no injuries to the residents or 20 firefighters on the scene. The site was cleared at about 1:30am on July 22.
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
