Late last week another candidate emerged to contest this riding in the Oct. 14 federal election.
Irma DeVries was approved as the Christian Heritage Party candidate for Perth-Wellington, on Sept. 11.
“It is my pleasure to represent the Christian Heritage Party in this federal election,” DeVries said. “I believe strongly in principles which do not vacillate according to the whims of people.”
DeVries, 49, says the CHP is the only federal political party that will protect the rights of all Canadians, from pre-born to seniors; those born here in Canada to those who immigrated here; those of all religious persuasions; all ethnicities; all colours.
She is a farm business partner and hydro electricity producer. She was born in Edmonton, grew up in Mississauga, and has lived in Perth-Wellington for 29 years, where she continues to enjoy “the rural lifestyle” with husband John.
She is active in her local community and church.
DeVries also said hers is the only federal political party willing to explore alternatives for infrastructure renewal and taxation.
“The CHP offers better solutions for our national problems at the local level,” she said.
