The fifth annual Grand Taste presented by the Centre Wellington Rotary Club will be held April 25 from noon to 4 pm.
This is a celebration of area restaurants, chefs, and local food producers.
Again this year, the event will be presented in the upper level of the Grand River Raceway, on County Road 21 west of Elora.
Proceeds from the fundraiser go to support the Groves Memorial Hospital Foundation CT Plus campaign.
Fifteen area eateries will be participating. The restaurants are Baileys…C’est Bon, Breadalbane Inn, Elora Mill Inn, Frabert’s Fresh Foods, Getaway Restaurant, Goose & Gridiron, Grand River Caterers, Log Cabin Heaven, The Cellar Pub and Grill, The Dragonfly Café, The Elora General Store, The Fountain Head Café, The Goofie Newfie Bar & Grill, Van Gali’s Café and Inn, and Whispers.
Each chef will prepare a favourite dish for patrons to sample.
Area food growers and producers will also take part in local food samples. They will have plenty of information on what the community can expect to find along the back roads and at Farmers’ Market this summer.
Raise a toast with Guelph’s famed craft-brewer, F&M Brewery.
Entertainment during the event will feature the Ernie Kalwa Trio.
In addition to the food samples, a silent auction will be held. Food, cuisine and entertainment theme auction items, include gift certificates from Grand Taste participants and supporters.
Tickets for the Grand Taste are $25 per person, and may be purchased at the Scotiabank in Fergus, The Elora General Store, 15 Mill Street Elora, or The Uptown Cafe at 140 Metcalfe Street Elora.
