There will be music in the air this summer once again as Shelburne’s Fiddle Fest is reborn as the new Heritage Music Festival with hosts, the Rotary Club of Shelburne, hard at work preparing for this new venue.
It all takes place Aug. 3 to 7 at the Dufferin Recreation Complex.
The line-up of entertainment includes:
– the Next Generation Leahy on Thursday evening at 7pm bringing the family’s celebrated Celtic energy. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for youth aged 13 to 17 and children 12 and under enter for free;
– headliner, Canadian superstar and Juno award winner Jim Cuddy on Friday evening.
He will perform his signature folk-country style music on stage.
The Jim Cuddy Band’s concert starts at 8pm but doors open at 7pm. Tickets are $47.46;
– the 66th Canadian Open Fiddle Championship Play Downs will take place on Friday from 10am to 5pm. Tickets are $10 and children 12 and under enter for free; and
– McLeod-former contest winners Scott Wood, Shane Cook, Matthew Johnston and James Bickle will take part in the great Fiddle Championship Finale on Saturday evening. Doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 6:30pm. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for youth aged 13 to 17 and children 12 and under enter for free
