FERGUS – Organizers of the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games have announced details of the ticketed Gala 2 Go slated for August 12.
This is in addition to numerous events, interviews, performances and other events it has organized for its free, online-only Wee Digital Ceilidh 2 Go festival this year.
It will be available for viewing over festival weekend, Aug. 13 to 15.
The festival, whether live or in-person, promotes the four pillars of any highland games – heavy events, highland dance, clans and heritage, and pipes and drums.
The Paint the Town Tartan event is an invitation for locals to decorate their homes and businesses with tartan and nods to Scotland to mark the weekend.
There will be prizes for best tartan home, best tartan business, and most creative youth.
Gala 2 Go is a celebration of the festival’s 75th anniversary and for the price of a ticket, $150, guests will receive “a night of festival grandeur, featuring a whisky appreciation and a variety of exceptional entertainment,” organizers say.
Included in the ticket is a Gala 2 Go box stuffed with savoury nibbles, limited edition 75th anniversary scotch glasses, and accessories to complement the evening program.
Details and announcements will be posted on the website at www.fergusscottishfestival.com and on the festival’s social media channels.
