NORTH PERTH – A Fergus resident faces a number of charges – including harassment, assault and uttering threats – following what police are calling “a number of domestic-related incidents” over five years.
Perth County OPP officials say the incidents, which involved two victims, occurred between 2017 and 2021 in North Perth, Wellington County and Niagara Falls.
A 36-year-old Fergus resident was charged with uttering threats, two counts of criminal harassment and three counts of spousal assault.
“The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges,” police stated in an Aug. 8 press release.
Police are reminding residents that “victims of and domestic violence are not alone,” noting there are local resources available for those requiring support.
Anyone in an immediate crisis should call 911.
