Fergus Lions Club home show this week

The Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex will be abuzz with activity this week for the 36th annual Fergus Lions Home and Leisure Show.

Admission to the show, which runs May 8, 9 and 10 from 6 to 10pm, is free but organizers are asking for donations to the Centre Wellington Food Bank.

Proceeds from the show go towards various Lions Club projects in the community and beyond.

Some recent projects supported by the club include the local Santa Claus Parade, the Walk for Dog Guides, the Grand River Arboretum and the Power of Play project at Stait Park in Fergus.

As always, a big treat at the home and leisure show is the Fergus Lions Fish Fry, which is taking place this year on May 10 from 5:30 to 7:30pm at the arena.

Tickets for the fish fry, which is catered by Howell's, are $14 for adults and $7 for children 12 and under.
