Fergus Kinsmen offering annual Christmas Tree pickup on Jan. 7

The Fergus and District Kinsmen are fortunate to have the support of the local community.

Once again, the Kinsmen club sold out of trees in record time.

The club sells Christmas Trees in the Walmart Garden Centre and community support has allowed the club to donate $25,000 to the Groves Memorial Community Hospital Foundation.

The continued support is much appreciated.

Customers looking for a fresh tree may want to think about shopping early next year, so the Kinsmen can continue the tradition of supporting the foundation.

“Through a great partnership with Walmart, The Grand 101 and the Wellington Advertiser, the Kinsmen are able to support the community in a meaningful way,” states project chairman Cody Rawn.

The Kinsmen offer another tip: Christmas trees can’t last forever  – but they can be “treecycled”.

The Fergus and District Kinsmen will be collecting all trees curbside with a donation to the Centre Wellington Food Bank on Jan. 7 in Fergus, Elora and Salem.

This holiday season Centre Wellington residents can support two great local charities simply by enjoying the Christmas tree tradition.
