TORONTO – Dillon Bernier, the current 2019-2020 Fergus Fall Fair Ambassador, attended the OAAS (Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies) Convention from Feb. 13 to 15 at the Sheraton Hotel in Toronto.
Over the course of the convention Bernier was able to meet over 70 other Ontario Fair Ambassadors, where they were able to share experiences they have had as ambassadors, things that make their specific fairs unique, and take part in seminars and workshops around leadership, careers in agriculture, and social media safety.
Bernier won the Fergus Fall Fair Ambassador competition this past September, and has been busy with his duties ever since; travelling to other local fairs, laying a wreath at the Remem-brance Day ceremony, being in the Elora, Fergus, and Alma Santa Claus parades, and of course attending and greeting many community members at the Fergus Fair. After the convention came to an end, Bernier was able to meet the 2015 CNE ambassador where he was able to ask questions about the upcoming CNE competition.
Bernier is now in the early stages of preparing for the CNE competition happening Aug. 21 to 23 to become the 2020 CNE Ambassador of the Fairs.
