Family Counselling and Support Services for Guelph-Wellington (FCSSGW) recently announced that a satellite office location in Fergus opened on Sept. 1.

This location expands FCSSGW’s locations and the ability to serve residents in the Fergus-Elora area with greater ease.

The official opening is Sept. 16 at 10am at which time the board of directors and staff will be joined by Wellington-Halton Hills MPP Ted Arnott and Mayor Kelly Linton along with many community partners.

“This new office will allow residents easier access to the important services offered by Family Counselling and Support Services for Guelph-Wellington,” stated Arnott.

“I wish to thank everyone involved for their compassionate and caring professionalism.”

Linton stated, “With 70% of mental health problems having their onset during childhood or adolescence we are pleased to have FCSSGW opening up an office here in Centre Wellington.

“Their programs will now be more accessible to our student population, and we are pleased that FCSSGW hopes to offer a walk-in clinic with a sliding payment scale in the spring of 2017, in addition to other programming.”

Sandra Ellis, Chair of the FCSSGW board said, “FCSS GW is committed to providing services to residents of Wellington County.

“Therefore, we are delighted to open a satellite office in Fergus to offer services and better serve the community.”

The office is located in the Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce building at 400 Tower Street. Day and evening appointments will be available as well as groups and workshops.

Information will be available on the organization’s website and brochures are available in the chamber foyer. Information about the services available will be distributed via local physicians, pharmacists, schools, businesses and beyond.
