MOUNT FOREST – After a three-year hiatus, the Mount Forest Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation (LMHF) is set to host its 2nd Annual Family Fun Day.
“It’s shaping up to be bigger and better than before,” organizes state.
Scheduled for Family Day, Feb. 20, at the Mount Forest and District Sports Complex, the event features family-friendly activities, a family skate, a toy auction, special guests from Wellington North Fire Service and Paw Patrol, and much more.
There are a couple of new additions this year, including an apple pie baking competition for adults 15-plus and a chocolate chip cookie baking competition for youngsters 14 and under.
“You can also compete as a team, with contestants in both categories and an overall family winner will be crowned based on points, organizers note.
A day pass is $25 for the whole family and will be available for purchase when doors open at 1pm.
Passes will also be available for pre-purchase at www.louisemarshallfoundation.ca or by contacting the Foundation office at 519-323-2210 ext. 77711.
Also new this year, the event will wrap up with a takeout spaghetti dinner prepared by Mount Forest’s Wrap Stars. A serving of spaghetti and meat sauce with garlic bread for two, is $15, and a vegetarian option is also available.
Dinner tickets are available in advance only and can be purchased online at www.louisemarshallfoundation.ca, or in person at the Foundation office located at Louise Marshall Hospital.
“We’re really excited to be able to once again bring this event to the community,” stated LMHF development officer Amy Van Huss.
“It provides the foundation an opportunity to raise much-needed funds to support our local hospital, but even more importantly, it gives us all the opportunity to get out and celebrate the day with family and friends.”
