The eighth annual Fall Wellington Rural Romp, set for Sept. 27, will provide participants with a day full of fall harvest activities.
From corn mazes to pumpkin picking, farm tours to animal interactions and pumpkin pies to wagon rides, the Fall Romp will keep your feet moving, your stomach full and your table bursting with farm fresh food, officials say.
“The Fall Wellington Rural Romp is a great opportunity for people to explore and celebrate the local food experiences Wellington County has to offer,” said Christina Mann, Taste Real coordinator.
“It is your chance to get out and learn about the path your food takes to your table all while enjoying the bounty of the local harvest.”
New this year, the Fall Wellington Rural Romp locations will be certified passport stops on the Centre Wellington Culture Days passport, making it easy to check off a Culture Days passport location and romp stop all at once.
As another added bonus, the Ox Guelph will have a special Farmalicious local food menu on Romp day for participants to stop in and enjoy along the way.

Participants are encouraged to share their Fall Romp adventures on Twitter @tastereal using #FallRomp14. Don’t forget to submit your photos to the photo contest as well. Prizes will be awarded for the best photo in three different categories: fall farmscapes, family fun, and food. Check www.tastereal.ca for all photo contest details.
“Taste Real is your connection to local food. When you spot the Taste Real logo, you know that you’re experiencing food grown close to home,” officials say. “You’ll find us at farmers’ markets, farm gate stalls, on-farm stores, your favourite retail outlets, restaurants and places to stay.
“Taste Real supports local businesses and farms and represents a group of people who are passionate about the way local food is grown, prepared, presented, and shared.”
