The Food for Thought series returns this fall for the 9th season at Mimosa United Church.
The fall lecture series is all about Japan, its history and culture.
Rev. Jeff Davison will lead through a series of film and lectures on Japan.
Enjoy a full course dinner before the lecture served by the UCW of Mimosa United Church.
Free will Offering please. All contributions will go towards the church functions and community.
Choose one, two or the complete series. You decide.
The lectures take place at Mimosa United Church, 5980 Wellington Road 26.
Dinner starts at 6:30pm and the lecture from 7:30 to 8:30pm.
– Oct. 26: The Emergence of the Ritsuryo State and Aspects of the Japanese Language;
– Nov. 2: Early Japanese Buddhism and Japanese Theatre: Noh and Kabuki
– Nov. 9: The importance of Japanese Gardens and Hokusai and the Art of Work Block Prints; and
– Nov. 16: Japanese Food ways and the making of contemporary Japan.
