PALMERSTON – The 2022 Palmerston Fair is set to run Aug. 26 to 28 at the fairgrounds in Palmerston.
“Come one, come all to take part in a weekend full of interesting activities and events,” urges Palmerston Agricultural Society president Christian Feldskov in a message to fair-goers. “You will be able to wander through the arena once again to tour our hobbies and craft section, make your way to our vegetable and baking sections. At your leisure you can look at our quilts, needlecraft, our photo section, flowers and crops. You may also want to join us for all the adventures we have planned. Take in the parade, Taste of Minto, Old MacDonald’s Farm, take a stroll past the antique tractors, play games in the Children’s Village and much, much more. Most importantly it will be an opportunity to reminisce with friends, neighbours and members of this wonderful community at the Palmerston Fair.”
An official opening and ambassador of the fair competition opens the event on Aug. 24, with fair events kicking off Friday night with an evening parade on Aug. 26, followed by the Taste of Minto dining experience.
Saturday activities include a tailgate garage sale, cake decorating challenge, baby show and “Auction of Champions.”
Ben Cullen of Cullen’s Foods and an ambassador for Year of the Garden will be doing a Year of the Garden presentation at the fair on Saturday at 1:30pm.
Saturday evening The Landlines will play two sets of music, featuring oldies from the ‘60s, classic rock from the ‘70s and ‘90s alternative rock.
Sunday events include a church service, dog agility show, Old McDonald’s Farm, an equine showcase, zucchini races and a roast beef dinner.
A Children’s Village featuring bouncy castles, pony rides and other activities will also be part of the fair weekend fun.
