Facility software purchased to streamline township operations

The township will spend $4,120 on software to streamline its facility booking process.

“After completion of the Parks and Recreation Master Plan in April 2012, it was recommended that investing in a facility booking software system would help to streamline the process and make it a more effective system,” stated public works director Larry Lynch in a report to council at the Oct. 7 meeting.

Lynch said township staff contacted several other municipalities to inquire about the software they use for the booking of their recreational facilities and how the system was working for them.

A request for proposals attracted submissions from three companies, two of which offered a 30-day free trial, which the township took advantage of.

The proposals offered systems ranging in costs from $4,120 to $7,800. Council accepted a staff recommendation to select the lowest bid, from Saskatoon-based EventPro.

Lynch said EventPro is used by the Town of Minto and has provided excellent customer service there.

“Their product will meet all of our needs and allow us to book events, minimize booking errors, track and note all inquiries and allow access from both the township office as well as the remote facilities. With the implementation of our permanent liquor licence, EventPro software has the added ability to track inventory and provide detailed information on the items used at each function,” he stated.
