HARRISTON – The Minto Arts Council is presenting Faces and Life, an exhibition by Diane Morgan, at the Minto Arts Gallery.
Officials describe the show as “an emotional exploration of faces and contemporary still life depicted in a modern realism style with a touch of nostalgia.”
An artist’s reception is set for June 9 at 6:30pm while the show runs from June 2 to June 30.
Morgan has been classically trained in fine art and painting by the Academy of Realist Art in Toronto as well as by prominent artist and former Harriston resident Tony Luciani.
“She paints with a passion for the creative process and the subject matter while enjoying the indirect method of painting utilized by the old masters,” officials state.
“Diane’s artwork creates a seamless blend of the modern and traditional elements defining her work as contemporary realism in the old tradition.”
A press release from the arts council also notes Morgan’s paintings have received numerous awards and acceptances in fine art exhibitions and are displayed in private collections throughout North America and the Middle East.
The Minto Arts Gallery is located on the top floor of the Harriston Public Library at 88 Mill Street in Harriston.
