The local SWAT (Student’s Working Against Tobacco) is hosting a free all-ages show at the Salsateria on 33 Macdonell on Dec.16.
Expose will feature local groups like AntiKnowledge, Dancehall Free For All, and Seductive Soundcrew, as well as break dancing acts New Era and U of G Breakers.
“We wanted to expose local youth to a free night of hip-hop, funk rock, and funky house music.” said SWAT peer leader, Jordon Kehoe.
“But more importantly, we want to expose the tobacco industry for targeting youth to become replacement smokers,” Kehoe said.
SWAT and its Fergus counterparts, DETOX, will provide interactive and multimedia displays for attendees. Evening highlights will include a preview of the documentary Smoke Damage from local filmmaker, Bill Barrett.
Doors open at 6:30pm. Attendance will be limited. For more information, visit www.wdghu.org.
