Everdale Farm welcomes summer with Summer Solstice Jamboree

EVERDALE – Everdale Farm, a not-for-profit community farm just outside Hillsburgh, is hosting Summer Solstice Jamboree, an outdoor music festival and fundraiser for the Good Food Project.

The event, on June 22 from noon to midnight, promises music from a variety of genres, local food and refreshments, camping for those who want to stay on site, and lots of good vibes as the season changes to summer.

The bands include:

– Big Tobacco & The Pickers;

– Emily Gilbart;

– Manta Jae;

– Innes Wilson’s Freightliner;

– Nastasia Y;

– The North Coast Band;

– Square Dancing with Bill Russell;

– Calderalls;

– The Stinky Boys;

– Sadye Middleton & Madison Hill; and

– MC: Wolfgang Chrapko.

Food and drink, available for purchase, is provided by:

– Everdale Grill and Salad;

– GoodLot Beer; and

– Heartwood Cider.

Attendees are welcome to bring their own drinks and food; free water is provided for refillable water containers.

Tickets are $60 for adults, $40 for seniors (65 and over), $20 for teens, and children under 12 are free.

On-site camping is $5 and parking is free for ticket-holders.

Proceeds from the festival will go to the Good Food Project, which grows farm-fresh food for Orangeville Food Bank and East Wellington Community Services. Proceeds also support to Erin Common Ground, whose mission is to regenerate soil health and community resilience in and around Erin.

Information about those projects can be found at everdale.org/goodfoodproject and www.instagram.com/erin.commonground.

“This is a low footprint event. Whatever you bring, you need to take away with you,” organizers say.

Organizers are also looking for volunteers “who are passionate about music and creating a safe and inclusive space for all,” they say.

One four-hour volunteer shift earns a free pass to the festival. Email gavin@everdale.org to register.

Everdale Farm is located at 5812 6th Line, Hillsburgh.
