Erin town manager announces retirement

Town manager Lisa Hass is retiring.

On Feb. 8, Mayor Lou Maieron made the announcement, which, he said, will affect the community.

“It’s both a happy and a sad announcement for some. It was a surprise for some, and a surprise to me.”

The Feb. 2 letter addressed to the mayor and members of council from Hass announced here impending retirement effective April 30.

“My retirement comes after 24-and-a-half years of employment with the former township of Erin and Town of Erin.”

Hass expressed her appreciation for the support provided by council and staff throughout the years.

“It has been satisfying experience.

“While I look forward to enjoying my retirement, I will miss my colleagues and the challenges, and the great working environment the town has provided.”

Maieron said at least three of the councillors appeared surprised at the News.

Councillor Barb Tocher said “I’ll save my comments for a meeting down the road.”

Hass said she has mixed feelings, but did not have additional comments to make at the time.
